What is climate responsibility?  How can we better understand climate change in the context of the tragedy of the commons?  What is intergenerational climate justice, and is it important?  What principles can decision makers use when considering next steps?

We’re really excited to be releasing our second Applied English Exercises Book on Climate Responsibility!  This is for English-language students looking to develop their language competencies, academic and professional skills, and climate-related knowledge.

This is the second document of the Climate Change 1 series, focusing on the important concepts of responsibility and justice in the context of the climate.  We’ve designed this document to allow you to lead into Simon Caney’s 2014 article, “Two Kinds of Climate Justice: Avoiding Harm and Sharing Burdens”.  It’s a well-written and well-considered academic article that is accessible to learners of the English language, and provokes considerations on the topic that push readers to think critically about the next steps.

People who will find the series useful will be:

- English-language learners of B1 (intermediate) and above.

- Students at university studying topics related to: public policy; international relations; social sciences.

- Professionals currently working or seeking to work in: international policy; and climate policy.

- IELTS students looking for more interesting ways to develop the targeted language skills.

Please share with friends and colleagues who might be interested, and let us know what you think in the comments.  This is an engaging and efficient way to develop your language competencies, and we hope you enjoy!

*If you want to learn interesting topics like those in the document, please see Our Services! We're currently offering an exciting group course focusing on environmental topics like those above.
