What is “futures”?  How can we use futures to better understand decisions in the present?  Why is it important to consider futures in the context of climate change?

We’re excited to be releasing our third Applied English Exercises Book on Climate Futures!  This is for English-language students looking to develop their language competencies, academic and professional skills, and climate-related knowledge in the context of the social sciences and policy.

This is the third and final document of the Climate Change 1 series, focusing on the idea of “futures” and how we can use it for better climate outcomes.  With the document, you’ll be introduced to futures and foresight, finishing with an exercise to get you thinking about different climate futures and the steps we should take to get to our preferred future.

People who will find the series useful will be:

  • English-language learners of B2 (intermediate) and above.

  • Students at university studying topics related to: public policy; international relations; social sciences.

  • Professionals currently working or seeking to work in: international policy; and climate policy.

  • IELTS students looking for more interesting ways to develop the targeted language skills.

Please share with friends and colleagues who might be interested, and let us know what you think in the comments.  This is an engaging and efficient way to develop your language competencies, and we hope you enjoy!
