Pesticides are chemicals that are designed to mitigate the negative impacts of certain pests, weeds and disease, generally in the context of agriculture. Despite their intentions, the toxins released into the environment cause a wide range of issues, from human health to biodiversity damage (WHO).

This one-off Applied English Exercises Book on pesticides will help English-language students interested in environmental topics better understand the use and dangers of pesticides, and consider some more environmentally-friendly alternatives. You’ll practise reading, writing and listening, with the help of some useful vocabulary selected for relevance. If you want to practise your speaking skills around this topic, find a language partner or join us for some targeted English classes!
We’ve also included a guided pronunciation exercise in this AEEB, so you can practise your pronunciation and accent in the context of pesticides. Please email us or message us on LinkedIn for the recordings, so you can shadow along!
Please share with friends and colleagues who might be interested, and let us know what you think in the comments. This is an engaging and efficient way to develop your language competencies, and we hope you enjoy!
